New GI Bill - Legislation We Support

Education benefits don't even cover half the cost of most colleges? The maximum yearly benefit available through the current GI Bill (to active duty veterans) is $9,675 or $38,700 over 4 years less than half the cost of an average state school.

Legislation We Support

The Campaign for a New G.I. Bill will support any legislation that reasonably addresses the shortcomings of the current G.I. Bill, including ending the non-refundable “Combat Tax” on the troops, boosting benefits to fully cover the cost of college for our service members, extending equal benefits to all those who served, or any other issues detailed on our “Facts about Veterans’ Education” page. As legislation is brought to our attention, we will update the list of bills we support, below.
