Welcome to the relaunched NewGIBill.org!

Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA) has partnered with College Factual to launch this brand new NewGIBill.org website and a more advanced and innovative benefits calculator for veterans to quickly determine their best and most affordable education options.

IAVA played a leading role in the passage of the Post-9/11 GI Bill signed into law in 2008, and we launched the first comprehensive New GI Bill Calculator in 2010 -- that tool has now been used over one million times. Now, thanks to our partnership with College Factual, we’re able to offer an even more user-friendly experience and more comprehensive calculator and comparison tool.

So what’s new? A lot.

First, the site has been completely redesigned to have the look and feel of a modern website. But what we’re most excited about is the updated functionality of the benefits calculator. You asked for it, and we listened. The new cross comparison tool allows you to quickly view multiple schools, up to three at once, side-by-side to enable better decision-making.

The updated New GI Bill calculator computes:

  • The College’s Sticker Price

  • Post-9/11 GI Bill Benefits

  • The School’s Average Yellow Ribbon Award

  • College Room and Board Fees

  • Military Housing Allowance

  • Books and Supplies

  • Military Book Stipend

  • Estimated Total Out-of-Pocket Cost

This new online tool incorporates the data-driven college rankings, school comparison tools, financial advice and insights that have distinguished College Factual as an innovator in the education technology realm.

Keep checking in for additional information and announcements from IAVA as we continue to share news and opportunities around education that impact our nation’s veterans.

Have a question about your educational benefits that you can’t find answered on our website or just want to get some clarification? Go to the top of the website and click “Get Help” to contact one of IAVA’s Veteran Transition Managers (VTM). Our VTMs are Masters-level social workers, many of whom are vets themselves or trained in veteran cultural competency.
